What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is an alternative care treatment option.  Similar to physical therapy, chiropractic incorporates a hands-on approach to medicine.

Due to many side effects and outcomes, chiropractic tries to limit the use of medicine and surgery and takes a more naturalistic approach to healing. As stated by the ACA (American Chiropractic Association), chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system, the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health.

Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.

What is MVP Chiropractic?

MVP Chiropractic provides a natural solution to health care.  Chiropractic is a safe and effective therapeutic tool and is most commonly known for the use of an adjustment.  An adjustment when utilized correctly in a treatment plan will; inhibit pain, increase range of motion, break up adhesions, and stimulate the immune system.

We provide a patient specific treatment plan that incorporates the use of chiropractic, physical therapy techniques, nutritional and ergonomic counseling, and home exercises to provide the most time efficient and effective plan.  The incorporation of all of these therapies together is what makes us stand out, by not only treating the symptoms but creating the solutions to what is causing them.

Also, we are a clinic that is aware of the over utilization of drugs and surgery.  We work in conjunction with other medical doctors to help give the patients all the information and choices they need to make the best decisions.  We want to build strong relationships with every patient by providing honest advice, effective treatment plans, trustworthy referrals, and an overall natural solution when you need it.

What is a Manipulation or Adjustment?

Also stated by the ACA, the most common therapeutic procedure performed by doctors of chiropractic is known as “spinal manipulation,” also called “chiropractic adjustment.”

The purpose of manipulation is to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become hypomobile – or restricted in their movement – as a result of a tissue injury. Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event, such as improper lifting of a heavy object, or through repetitive stresses, such as sitting in an awkward position with poor spinal posture for an extended period of time. In either case, injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function for the sufferer.

Manipulation, or adjustment of the affected joint and tissues, restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal.

Is chiropractic care and massage therapy covered under my insurance?

Chiropractic care uses techniques and therapies to heal and maintain structural integrity which have been lost due to injury or postural imbalances over time. Massage therapy offers many benefits to the mind, musculoskeletal system, and posture. Although massage therapy is mostly known for relaxation, it has many other effects on the body and is an excellent addition to chiropractic care.   When the stress relieving and muscle relaxing effects of massage therapy are combined with the many techniques of chiropractic care this can cause a compounding benefit to patients which may be covered under your insurance.
